Derya Karadeniz M.D., Prof. She was born in Zonguldak, in 1966. She completed her middle and high school education at TED (Turkish Education Association) Zonguldak College. She graduated from Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine at İstanbul University in 1990. In the same year, she started her Neurology Specialty in Neurology Department at İstanbul University. She worked as a “researcher” in Sleep Disorders Center of Neurology Department at Montpellier University in France between 1993 and 1994. She published her thesis, which she had been conducting there about “Restless Legs Syndrome and Periodic Movement Disorder during Sleep,” at Montpellier University and in international medical journals. She obtained the diploma of “Diplome Inter Universitaire du Sommeil et de L’eveil (Interuniversity Diploma of Sleep and Wakefulness)”, which is valid in European countries, within the period when she was in France. In 1995, she actively worked in three research projects of “hypersomnia-excessive sleepiness” in Sleep Disorders Centre at Stanford University in USA. She became Neurology Specialist in Neurology Department of Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine at İstanbul University in 1996, became Associate Professor in 2001, and became Professor in 2007 in the same university. In 2011, she obtained Clinical Neurophysiology Subspecialty in Turkey. In 2013, she won the title of European Sleep “Expert” as well as European Specialist of Sleep Medicine in Europe. |

Ayşe Filiz KOŞAR Ass. Prof., M.D.
She was graduated from İstanbul Faculty of Medicine at İstanbul University in 1985 and completed her 2-year obligatory service in Health Care Center in Başkale, Van and Maternal and Infant Health Center in Van. She started her specialty education at Yedikule Chest Hospital in 1987 and completed it in 1992 and then she was appointed as chief assistant to the same hospital. In 1998, she became a Chief Assistant via the 3-stage (foreign language, central science exam and oral examination) Chief/Chief Assistant academic promotion exam, which was organized once for all, and she became Assistant Professor of Chest Diseases in the same year. In 1999, she was appointed as Clinical Chief. She was also been taking office as the founder and the supervisor of Respiratory Intensive Care Unit at my own hospital since 2000. |
